Apples and oranges. The term ‘hall of fame’ often generates scorn and opprobrium from serious Budoka. Not all ‘halls’ are created equal. The martial arts in Canada have history and tradition, exceeding 65 years. In 13 years the Canadian Black Belt Hall of Fame, CBBHoF has inducted 103 incredible individuals. It’s simply, very, very difficult to get in. Not for profit, its simply a labour of love. No one pays for induction in any form, and all alumni receive complementary tickets (for 2) for…life. Maybe it’s not a great business model, but we don’t care.
